Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Citealytics. By creating an account or installing the tracking script you agree to them. They are written to be read, not to be survived.

The service

Citealytics provides cookieless web analytics with attribution for AI answer engines. We classify requests to your site, report visits and citations, and give you a dashboard and exports. Features change over time; we will not remove a material feature from a paid plan without notice.

Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for keeping access to your account secure, and for the activity of anyone you invite to it. You must be legally able to enter a contract, and you must have the right to install analytics on the sites you add.

Acceptable use

Do not use Citealytics to collect data you are not entitled to collect, to track individuals across sites, to attempt to re-identify visitors, to send fabricated events, or to interfere with the service or other customers. We may suspend an account that does any of these, and will tell you why.

Billing and cancellation

Paid plans bill in advance, monthly or annually, through our payment processor. Annual billing is charged at ten months for twelve. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and there are no partial refunds for time already elapsed. If a payment fails we will retry and email you before any downgrade.

Your data

Analytics data collected through your sites belongs to you. We process it to provide the service and for nothing else: we do not sell it, do not build advertising profiles from it, and do not share it with third parties beyond the sub-processors listed in our data processing terms. You can export it at any time, and we delete it on request or within 30 days of account closure.

Availability

We aim for high availability but do not promise uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where practical. Collection is designed to fail safe: if ingest is unavailable, your site keeps working and the affected events are simply not recorded.

Liability

The service is provided as-is to the extent permitted by law. Our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost data where you held no independent copy.
